But this offload may make room for a more balanced team.
CSK and RR have returned in the midst of a forgettable (but not forgivable) incident which included two IPL team skippers: Steven Smith(RR) and David Warner(SRH). Both of them were involved in a recent ball tampering disgrace while playing Test against South Africa. Both have recieved a year ban from any cricketing activities, including IPL, which will be heavy losses for both of the teams. CSK have collected back almost all of its past players making an identical team with CSK2k16. Pune and Gujrat lions have been dismantled.
So about the first match, what can I say...in the last 5 IPL openers victories have gone to the defending champions, the only exception being at the time when Rising Pune were first introduced. The last time CSK-MI opener took place back in 2012, MI had crushed CSK by sending them packing for just 115 runs and finishing the game with 8 wickets in hand. Moreover, MI have triumphed over CSK more no. of times comparatively. This may be the only reason if CSK should win today (also Faf not playing due to injury).
Anyways, CSK will put a decent fight but it won't be a good comeback for them.
